The trip plan

A few of you have been asking for some details on this trip so I thought I'd post some more info about this adventure. We'll be heading to Tahoe and hanging out there for a couple weeks. Then Charmelle has to fly home. She has to come home and go back to work. I'm fortunate and get to take some extra time to travel. So I'm touring around to see some sights and visit some friends on my trip home. The exact route is still up for interpretation and I have no hard dates or certain plans. That should make for quite an adventure. I can stop and look at stuff, take side trips, etc. I need to be back by Aug 21, other than that, it's pretty open. To see the tentative route, click here.
We're taking our bikes, so we're planning to take advantage of some great road and mountain bike riding. We'll also try to successfully navigate the mighty Truckee River again this year. Last year was quite exciting in the last 150 yards or so.
We're also going to do some hiking, hanging out, and resting. Once the second part of the trip starts, I'll be heading to OR to visit friends and do some riding. Then it's over to ID and MT. I've never been to either State so I'm really excited to see the scenery there. I'll spend some time in Coeur d'Alene with one of Charm's former team mates, then head to Glacier National Park for a few days. After that, I'll head down to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for a few days, then I have to look at a calendar and see how many days I have left. If time is running short, I'll head home back through NE. If I have time, I'll head north and come home through SD and WI. While in WI, I'll stop by the Trek factory and get a tour! That's the trip in a nut shell. We're driving out with lots of toys, Charmelle flies home, and I drive around playing in National Parks for a couple more weeks. See why we needed a blog for this!
